Abstract
This dissertation aims to study the transnational crime of trafficking in women for the purpose of sexual exploitation, through a critical feminist approach. In the first chapter, political theory and the study of concepts introduce the debate. In the second chapter, the dissertation exposes the conceptualization of international crime, data brought by the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons 2020, published by UNODC, UN office, as well as current and perennial challenges of international trafficking in women. Finally, it presents contemporary debates on feminisms, sexual activities and analytical categories, such as intersectionality. This is a descriptive research, which makes use of the bibliographic research method, through a review of the literature on the subject. It concludes: the international trafficking of women is a complex, multifactorial and ancient activity, based on the division of binary gender roles, on profitmaking, on the sexual division of labor, on the stigmatization of the sexual exercise of women, and on surveillance and objectification of bodies; it is not appropriate, therefore, to treat the mentioned crime only as a violation of women's rights - although it is also the case.
