Abstract
Os cafés especiais têm conquistado espaço no mercado global, impulsionados pela busca dos
consumidores por experiências sensoriais e pela valorização da qualidade e origem do produto.
Dentro desse contexto, os produtores de café da região da Alta Mogiana têm buscado inserir-se
nesse nicho de mercado. Este estudo analisa o impacto da inserção dos produtores de café da
Alta Mogiana na cadeia global de cafés especiais, focando na rentabilidade de suas operações.
O objetivo é compreender como essa inserção afeta a rentabilidade dos produtores e identificar
estratégias para aumentar sua competitividade. A metodologia adotada é qualitativa, baseada
em entrevistas com produtores e profissionais do setor, utilizando abordagem indutiva. Os
resultados destacam a conscientização dos produtores sobre a importância do mercado global
de cafés especiais e suas demandas específicas, bem como os desafios logísticos e a necessidade
de apoio institucional na exportação. Conclui-se que a gestão eficiente das fazendas, aliada a
estratégias como participação em concursos de qualidade e investimento em práticas
sustentáveis, é fundamental para garantir a competitividade e rentabilidade no mercado global
de cafés especiais.
Specialty coffees have gained ground in the global market, driven by consumers' quest for sensory experiences and the appreciation of product quality and origin. Within this context, coffee producers from the Alta Mogiana region have sought to integrate into this niche market. This study examines the impact of the integration of Alta Mogiana coffee producers into the global specialty coffee chain, focusing on the profitability of their operations. The aim is to understand how this integration affects the profitability of producers and to identify strategies to increase their competitiveness. The methodology adopted is qualitative, based on interviews with producers and industry professionals, using an inductive approach. The results highlight producers' awareness of the importance of the global specialty coffee market and its specific demands, as well as the logistical challenges and the need for institutional support in exportation. It is concluded that efficient farm management, combined with strategies such as participation in quality contests and investment in sustainable practices, is essential to ensure competitiveness and profitability in the global specialty coffee market.
