O propósito deste estudo é abordar as músicas compostas por Taylor Swift para a
trilha sonora do filme Jogos Vorazes (2012), dirigido por Gary Ross, Lionsgate, que
foi baseado no primeiro livro da trilogia de mesmo nome, e como as canções ajudam
o telespectador do filme e o leitor do livro a terem um entendimento melhor da
narrativa contada. Para isso, o trabalho é iniciado com uma explicação sobre quem é
a cantora Taylor Swift e como sua carreira se iniciou. Também são investigados
nesse estudo, as diferentes partes da discografia de Taylor Swift, como as diferentes
fases de sua carreira, que são conhecidas como eras, e como essas diferenças lhe
ajudaram a chegar no mesmo patamar de artistas de renome, como The Beatles, e a
longevidade que esse grupo possui, e o seu impacto na cultura e na sociedade
atual. O estudo aprofunda a identidade que a cantora expõe para o mundo e utiliza a
teoria de Zygmunt Bauman (2001) e Stuart Hall (2006) para isso. Em seguida, o que
é Intermidialidade, qual é o objeto de estudo desse campo de pesquisa e as
relações entre diferentes formatos de mídias, com foco entre literatura, música e
audiovisual. E finalmente é apresentada uma análise detalhada das duas músicas
lançadas para o filme e qual é a relação delas com o livro.
The purpose of this study is to address the songs composed by Taylor Swift for the soundtrack of the film The Hunger Games (2012), directed by Gary Ross, Lionsgate, which was based on the first book in the trilogy of the same name, and how the songs help the film's viewers and the book’s readers to have a better understanding of the narrative told. For this end, the study begins with an explanation of who the singer Taylor Swift is and how her career began. It is also investigated in this study the different parts of Taylor Swift's discography, such as the different phases of her career, known as eras, and how these differences helped her be in the same level as renowned artists, such as The Beatles and the longevity that this group has, and its impact on current culture and society. The study delves into the identity that the singer exposes to the world and uses the theory of Zygmunt Bauman (2001) and Stuart Hall (2006) to do so. Next, it is presented what is Intermediality, what is the object of study of this field of research and the relationships between different media formats, with a focus on literature, music and audiovisual. And, finally, a detailed analysis of the two songs released for the film and their relationship with the book will be presented.
