O desenvolvimento do ensino superior a distância no Brasil - diretrizes para o projeto dos edifícios e redes espaciais

Abstract

The aim of this dissertation is to identify the potencial and the needs of institutional networks of higher distance education in Brazil, it is headquarters and the poles of classroom support, focusing on physical infrastructure and technological support aspects needed for the support and development of courses. To this end, it is part of the study of the recent development of Brazilian higher distance education and, in front of their enormous expansion in the past ten years. Factors that contribute to their growth exponentially are highlited: 1) The changes occasioned by the information and communication technologies (ICT); 2) Transformations in higher education; and 3) New legislation, seeking quality standard. In the age of cyberculture, there is a new form of relationships and interactions, which causes disturbances in the relation with knowledge and encourage educational renovations. Among these renovations, the greater integration of the use of technology in the learning environment stands out, which changes the pedagogical assumptions and reflects the need for new settings in the learning space. On the trends and prospects of the use of information and communication technologies in Brazilian higher education and the guidelines of applicable laws, the actual requirements of educational demand are noted.

O objetivo da presente dissertação é identificar as potencialidades e as necessidades das redes institucionais de ensino superior a distância no Brasil, sua sede e os polos de apoio presencial, concentrando-se nos aspectos de infraestrutura física e de suportes tecnológicos necessários para o apoio e o desenvolvimento de cursos. Para tal, parte-se do estudo sobre o desenvolvimento recente do ensino superior brasileiro a distância e, diante da sua enorme expansão nos últimos dez anos, destacam-se fatores que contribuem para o seu crescimento em exponencial: 1) As mudanças ocasionadas pelas tecnologias da informação e comunicação (TIC); 2) As transformações no ensino superior brasileiro; e 3) As novas legislações, que buscam um padrão de qualidade. Na era da cibercultura há uma nova forma de relações e de interações universais, que provocam perturbações na relação com o saber e motivam as reformas educacionais. Dentre essas reformas, destaca-se a maior integração do uso das tecnologias no ambiente de aprendizado, o que altera as concepções pedagógicas e reflete na necessidade de novas configurações no espaço de aprendizagem. Diante das tendências e perspectivas de uso das tecnologias da informação e comunicação no ensino superior brasileiro e as diretrizes das leis vigentes observam-se as reais exigências da demanda educacional.
