campeonatos, o brasileiro respira e transpira futebol. No entanto, o futebol figura
negociações do futebol.
performance do atleta.
Football is the great national passion, from the street matches to the finals of the big championships, the Brazilian breathe and perspires football. However, football is also a great economy. In this context, the sports press actively participates in the formation of public opinion and, therefore, what is conveyed by it is able to influence in the great negotiations of football. Thus, besides reaching the expectations of the supporters, technical staff and family, the football player, especially professional footballers, has the responsibility to not disappoint the media, since it can influence his career in a positive and or negative way. Thus, in addition to the great hostility and pressure intrinsic to the competitive environment, the player is constantly under the eyes of the media and this increases the demands on his performance that may be influenced by his emotional and psychological state. Therefore, this work aims to discuss the sport psychology, an area that has been gaining ground with professionals engaged in performance sports, emphasizing the influence of the psychological factor on the performance of the athlete. Nevertheless, we will also discuss the possible role of the media in the disturbance of the psychological and emotional balance of footballers and their influence on the performance of the athlete.
