Pelas janelas de Vermeer: um olhar para fora, do séc. XVII a contemporaneidade

| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho visa correlacionar o espírito das épocas através de uma releitura das obras do pintor holandês do período Barroco, Johannes Vermeer (1632-75), analisando os simbolismos da luz que perpassa as janelas, possibilitando uma relação atemporal entre mundos nos aspectos sociais e culturais. O objeto de pesquisa tem como foco as janelas que aparecem em algumas obras de Vermeer, por vezes abertas ou fechadas, trazendo assim ao ambiente cenográfico a luz que invade a cena e desperta sensações que vão além do mero funcionalismo. Esta análise fará uso dos aspectos simbólicos da luz como ícone de possibilidades interpretativas associadas a vários conceitos culturais e sociais dessa representação. A luz como verdade; a luz do bem e a luz da razão. As intersecções com a contemporaneidade mostrarão como esses conceitos estão presentes no universo cinematográfico, literário entre outros. As duas primeiras obras analisadas são O GEÓGRAFO (1668-69) e O ASTRÔNOMO (1668), a fim de levantar alguns aspectos da realidade holandesa do século XVII, em especial no que diz respeito às expansões comerciais marítimas daquele período, a fim de criar algumas relações com os anseios expansionistas do homem moderno. Por fim, a terceira obra é a MOÇA LENDO UMA CARTA À JANELA (1657-59), com ela busca-se levantar algumas referências aos aspectos psicológicos do papel das janelas e seus significados, tais quais: um apontar à transcendência, na busca por alívio e esperança quanto aos anseios futuros. Nesse ponto, as intersecções com a contemporaneidade se fazem presentes por meio das ressignificações das janelas nos contextos similares de períodos pandêmicos enfrentados nas referidas sociedades. Quanto aos critérios metodológicos, o trabalho utilizar-se-á do levantamento historiográfico de imagens e fontes teóricas, tomando como base análise investigativa do período do século XVII e relações com a contemporaneidade. Desta forma, principalmente as obras do historiador Timothy Brook, Chapéu de Vermeer (2012) e do filósofo e historiador de artes Didi-Huberman, Diante do tempo (2015) e Diante da imagem (2013) são referências importantes nesse trabalho. | |

| local.description.abstracten | This work aims to correlate the spirit of the times through a rereading of the works of the Dutch painter of the Baroque period, Johannes Vermeer (1632-75), analyzing the symbolism of the light that permeates the windows, enabling a timeless relationship between worlds in social and cultural aspects. . The research object focuses on the windows that appear in some of Vermeer's works, sometimes open or closed, thus bringing to the scenographic environment the light that invades the scene and awakens sensations that go beyond mere functionalism. This analysis will make use of the symbolic aspects of light as an icon of interpretive possibilities associated with various cultural and social concepts of this representation. Light as truth: the light of good and the light of reason. Intersections with contemporaneity will show how these concepts are present in the cinematographic, literary universe, among others. The first two works analyzed are THE GEOGRAPHER (1668-69) and THE ASTRONOMER (1668), in order to raise some aspects of the Dutch reality of the seventeenth century, in particular with regard to the maritime commercial expansions of that period, in order to create some relations with the expansionist aspirations of modern man. Finally, the third work is MOÇA LENDO UMA CARTA À JANELA (1657-59), with which we seek to raise some references to the psychological aspects of the role of windows and their meanings, such as: a point to transcendence, in the search for relief and hope for future anxieties. At this point, the intersections with contemporaneity are present through the re-signification of windows in similar contexts of pandemic periods faced in those societies. As for the methodological criteria, the work will use the historiographical survey of images and theoretical sources, based on an investigative analysis of the period of the 17th century and relations with contemporaneity. In this way, mainly the works of the historian Timothy Brook, Chapéu de Vermeer (2012) and of the philosopher and art historian Didi-Huberman, Diante do tempo (2015) and Diante da imagem (2013) are important references in this work. | |
