© 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.This study draws on the dynamic capabilities view and examines how information technology capabilities (ITC) enhances supply chain ambidexterity (SCA) and firm performance (FP); in which SCA is a combination of market sensitivity (exploration capabilities) and operational adjustment (exploitation capabilities) geared at addressing changing customers' needs under environmental turbulence. This survey is based on data from 235 Brazilian companies and analysis done using partial least squares path modelling (PLS-PM). The results suggest that ITC influences SCA in sequence to enhance FP. SCA in environments with higher turbulence enables firms to gain superior performance. The survey shows that this is more prevalent in the manufacturing sector compared to other industries. Additionally, the findings demonstrated that the relationship between ITC and FP was mediated by SCA. The study is one of the first to develop a supply chain ambidexterity measure that integrated market sensitivity (exploration capabilities) and operational adjustment (exploitation capabilities) enabled ITC.
