Resumo
Desde sua criação o cinema atrai a atenção das pessoas, que são influenciadas
pelas ideias e conceitos apresentados pelos filmes. Do mesmo modo, a
criminologia tem influenciado as políticas criminais dos governos desde a sua
constituição, tendo sido desenvolvidas diversas teses que buscam explicar a
origem da criminalidade. Assim, o presente trabalho buscará demonstrar qual o
papel do cinema na sociedade, bem como o modo com que esta arte tem
representado os diversos grupos sociais presentes no Brasil. Em seguida, será feita
uma associação entre cinema e criminologia, buscando analisar o filme “Cidade de
Deus” à luz da teoria criminológicas das subculturas criminais, com o objetivo de
identificar a maneira com que o filme retrata a evolução das subculturas criminais
cariocas. Em síntese, é crucial entender a relevância social do cinema, bem como
descobrir se as produções cinematográficas são capazes de transmitir conceitos
extraídos da criminologia, através da análise do filme “Cidade de Deus”, tendo em
vista seu impacto no cinema nacional.
Since its creation the cinema has attracted the attention of people, who are influenced by the ideas and concepts presented by the films. Likewise, criminology has influenced the criminal policies of governments since its constitution, and several theses have been developed that seek to explain the origin of crime. Thus, this work will seek to demonstrate the role of cinema in society, as well as the way in which this art has represented the various social groups present in Brazil. Next, an association will be made between cinema and criminology, seeking to analyze the film "City of God" in the light of the criminological theory of criminal subcultures, with the objective of identifying the way in which the film portrays the evolution of Carioca criminal subcultures. In summary, it is crucial to understand the social relevance of cinema, as well as to discover whether film productions are able to convey concepts extracted from criminology, through the analysis of the film "City of God", in view of its impact on national cinema.
