| dc.description.abstract | O autor desse mestrado conheceu, em 1978, o artista e paisagista Roberto Burle Marx em seu escritório e manteve contato com ele entre 1978 e 1994, com destaque para oito excursões de coleta de plantas em que viajaram juntos, entre 1978 e 1985. O convívio por 16 anos se desdobrou no reconhecimento pelo pesquisador da relevância dessa prática na vida e na obra de Burle Marx e na decisão de abordar o tema em sua dissertação de mestrado. O trabalho apresenta, assim, um relato vivencial, enriquecido por reflexões acerca dessas experiências. Iniciando com um breve panorama histórico sobre a relação entre homens e plantas, a dissertação detém-se, a seguir, nos temas de coleta e de transporte de mudas ao longo dos séculos. Em um segundo momento, explora o perfil de Roberto Burle Marx, destacando sua trajetória como artista e paisagista. A terceira parte tematiza as excursões de coleta, acompanhadas de observaçõessobre a interpretação das paisagens e o impacto dessas jornadas no entendimento da natureza. Particular ênfase é dada à excursão pela Amazônia, que marcou uma das grandes contribuições científicas e paisagísticas de Burle Marx. Por fim, o trabalho aborda o legado deixado por Burle Marx, incluindo o seu sítio, suas contribuições para o paisagismo e a botânica, e apresenta o elenco de plantas que ele coletou, desconhecidas pela ciência até então. Trata-se, enfim, de um testemunho sobre a conexão entre o homem, a arte, e a natureza, bem como a duradoura influência de Burle Marx no campo das ciências naturais e no desenho de paisagens. | |

| local.description.abstracten | The author of this master’s degree met, in 1978, Roberto Burle Marx in his office and maintained contact with him, between 1978 and 1994, with emphasis on eight plant collection excursions on which they traveled together, between 1978 and 1985. The coexistence for 16 years unfolded into recognition by the researcher of the relevance of this practice in the life and work of Burle Marx and the decision to address the theme in his master's thesis. The work thus presents an experiential account, enriched by reflections on these experiences. Starting with a brief historical overview of the relationship between men and plants, the dissertation then focuses on the themes of collecting and transporting seedlings over the centuries. Secondly, it exploresthe profile of Roberto Burle Marx, highlighting his career as an artist and landscaper. The third part focuses on collecting excursions, accompanied by observations on the interpretation of landscapes and the impact of these journeys on the understanding of nature. Emphasis is given to the excursion through the Amazon, which marked one of Burle Marx's greatest scientific and landscape contributions. Finally, the work addresses the legacy left by Burle Marx, including his farm, his contributions to landscaping and botany, and presents the list of plants he collected, unknown to science until then. It is, ultimately, a testimony to the connection between man, art, and nature, as well as the lasting influence of Burle Marx in the field of natural sciences and landscape design. | |
