dc.description.abstractO Bixiga é um bairro não oficial localizado dentro do Bela Vista (São Paulo). Suas demarcações foram criadas no imaginário de seus habitantes a partir do afeto. Atualmente é conhecido pela forte cultura e comunidade italiana que o habita, mas sua origem vem de muito antes, do rio Saracura, quilombo que recebeu como lar os afrodescendentes que chegaram em São Paulo. O ambiente miscigenado fez-se polo cultural, foi chamando a atenção da classe artística e, com o passar do tempo, o Bixiga já abrigava o TBC, o Oficina e muitos outros teatros fundamentais para a história do teatro brasileiro. Com o foco cultural de São Paulo localizado no Bixiga, chegou também a especulação imobiliária, a indústria cultural, a desvalorização da arte e outros problemas que são enfrentados diariamente pelos espaços culturais. Muitos teatros independentes foram fechados e, os que ainda conseguem se manter, têm um longo passado e presente de muita luta. Esse trabalho pretende descortinar o cotidiano de resistência e a importância social desses ambientes através de imagens do presente.pt_BR
dc.description.abstractBixiga is an unofficial neighborhood located within Bela Vista (São Paulo). Its demarcations were created in the imagination of its inhabitants from affection. It is currently known for its strong Italian culture and community, but its origin dates from long ago, from the Saracura River, a quilombo that welcomed Afro-descendants who arrived in São Paulo. The mixed environment became a cultural hub, and it started to draw the attention of the artistic class and, over the time, Bixiga hosted TBC, Oficina and many other theaters that were fundamental to the history of Brazilian theater. With São Paulo's cultural focus located in Bixiga, real estate speculation, cultural industry, devaluation of art and other problems that are faced daily by cultural spaces have also appeared. Many independent theaters have been closed, and those who can still keep up have a long past and present filled with a lot of struggle. This paper aims to unveil the daily resistance and the social importance of these environments through images of the present.pt_BR
