O retrato inconsistente do circo pela imprensa cultural digital e impressa tem suas
razões verificadas tanto pela falta de familiaridade de jornalistas com a linguagem
circense quanto pelas circunstâncias atuais do próprio ofício, o qual é permeado pelas
dinâmicas de mercadoria e pela ampliação das plataformas midiáticas e de público.
Nesse ínterim lógico, a apreciação crítica dos espetáculos contemporâneos desvela uma
escrita marcada pela confusão de conceitos basilares do circo, tais como “tradição”,
“picadeiro” e “novo-circo”, bem como, a anulação do “circo” como uma categoria suis
generis dentre as apresentações vivas. Para trabalhar a referida problemática, a
investigação emprega o revezamento entre teorias comunicacionais e de cultura, a
avaliação prática da cobertura jornalística e o envolvimento empírico da autora com o
mundo circense para sugerir escritas mais assertivas sobre o circo.
The inconsistent image of the circus portrayed by the digital and printed cultural press has reasons checked by lack of familiarity with circus language as well for the current circumstances of journalism, which is permeated by the dynamics of merchandise and the expansion of media and public platforms. Under this logic, the critical appreciation of contemporary spectacles reveals a writing marked by the confusion of basic concepts of the circus, such as "tradition", "circus-ring" and "new-circus", as well as the annulment of the "circus" as a category suis generis among the live presentations. In order to work on this problem, the research uses the relay between communication and cultural theories, the practical evaluation of journalistic coverage and the empirical involvement of the author with the circus world to suggest more assertive writings about the circus.
