Da referência à referenciação: um percurso histórico por meio da obra de Ingedore Villaça Koch

| dc.description.abstract | Ingedore Villaça Koch foi uma das pioneiras dos estudos em Linguística Textual (LT) no Brasil e sua obra retrata com clareza as mudanças pelas quais esse campo da linguística passou. Este trabalho, filiando-se ao campo da historiografia da linguística, tem por objetivo analisar os conceitos de referência e referenciação na obra de Ingedore Villaça Koch a fim de identificar de que maneira os diferentes aportes teóricos recebidos pela LT levaram a uma mudança de perspectiva que acarretou a substituição de um termo pelo outro nesse programa de investigação e quais foram seus desdobramentos. Analisar historicamente essa mudança conceitual é uma forma de compreender como a perspectiva teórica molda o objeto de estudo. Para tanto, seguiremos as três fases da pesquisa em historiografia da linguística. Na fase heurística de nosso trabalho, selecionamos três documentos da obra de Koch que tratam do tema em análise (Koch & Fávero, 1984; Koch & Marcuschi, 1998; Koch, 2002) num recorte temporal que vai de 1980 a 2010, elegendo um trabalho como representativo de cada década. Na fase hermenêutica, esse material é submetido a um processo de leitura e interpretação, em que perguntaremos quem eram os interlocutores e quais eram os vínculos institucionais da autora no momento da produção de cada um desses documentos, em que momento e por que optou-se pela substituição do conceito, e como essa mudança reflete a transformação da própria LT; por fim, na fase expositiva, é apresentada a narrativa historiográfica depreendida da leitura desses documentos. Numa primeira fase de sua obra, Koch emprega o conceito de referência, seja na discussão semântica para referir-se aos objetos do mundo, seja para tratar da coesão referencial, atendo-se, sobretudo, ao fenômeno da correferência, entendido como a identificação do antecedente de uma expressão anafórica, numa visão imanente ao cotexto; posteriormente, Koch adota a visão segundo a qual a construção de objetos de discurso é uma atividade discursiva, de maneira que a anáfora estabelece uma ligação, não propriamente entre segmentos linguísticos do cotexto, mas com algum tipo de informação que se encontra na memória discursiva dos interlocutores. Concluímos que as transformações por que a LT passou corresponde à passagem de um programa de investigação descritivista a um programa sociocultural, e a introdução do conceito de referenciação é uma evidência disso. | |

| local.description.abstracten | Ingedore Villaça Koch was one of the pioneers of studies in Textual Linguistics (TL) in Brazil and her work clearly portrays the changes that this field of linguistics has undergone. This paper, affiliated to the field of historiography of linguistics, aims to analyze the concepts of reference and referencing in the work of Ingedore Villaça Koch in order to identify how the different theoretical contributions received by LT led to the substitution of one term for another in this research program and what were its consequences. Historically analyzing this conceptual change is a way of understanding how the theoretical perspective shapes the object of study. To this end, we will follow the three phases of research in the historiography of linguistics. In the heuristic phase, we selected three documents from Koch’s work that deal with the topic under analysis (Koch & Fávero, 1984; Koch & Marcuschi, 1998; Koch, 2002) in a time frame that goes from 1980 to 2010, choosing a paper as representative of each decade. In the hermeneutic phase, this material is subjected to a process of reading and interpretation, in which we will ask who were the interlocutors and what were the author’s institutional ties at the time of production of each of these documents, when and why the decision was made to by the replacement of the concept, and how this change reflects the transformation of the TL itself; finally, in the expository phase, a historiographical narrative is presented from the reading of these documents. In the first phase of his work, Koch used the concept of reference, whether in the semantic discussion to refer to objects in the world, or to deal with referential cohesion, paying particular attention to the appearances of correspondence, understood as the identification of the antecedent of an anaphoric expression, in a view immanent to the cotext; subsequently, Koch adopts a view according to which the construction of objects of speech is a discursive activity, in such a way that anaphora establishes a connection, not exactly between linguistic segments of the cotext, but with some type of information that is found in the discursive memory. We conclude that the transformations that TL has undergone correspond to the transition from a descriptivist research program to a sociocultural program, and the introduction of the concept of referencing is evidence of this. | |
