Acute Viral Bronchiolitis (AVB) is an acute disease of the lower respiratory tract that represents the main cause of hospitalization in young children under 2 years of age during the seasonal period between autumn and winter, and is most commonly caused by the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). Infants with bronchiolitis may present a variety of nonspecific clinical manifestations ranging from mild respiratory difficulty to a more severe form of the disease. The objective of this study is to survey the literature on how physiotherapy integrates with other forms of treatment and to verify if there is information on the combination of these approaches in the management of bronchiolitis cases, seeking not only to increase the assertiveness of treatment, but also to optimize available resources, providing benefits for both patients and the health system. In this study, a bibliographic and descriptive review of bibliographic concepts was carried out between January and May 2025, with articles searched in the PubMed, PEDro, SciELO and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews databases that were related to the topic addressed and the intended objectives. A total of 71 articles were found, of which 63 were excluded by title, abstract and content. As a result of the search, 8 articles were found eligible for inclusion in the review that responded to this objective, all of which were clinical trials. During this work, a significant limitation of evidence in the scientific literature was observed that specifically evaluates the integration of physiotherapy with other forms of treatment. In addition, no consensus was found among the studies regarding the effectiveness of physiotherapy, especially regarding techniques, frequency and its association with other therapeutic approaches. In short, it is concluded that, although the integration of physiotherapy with other therapies is a promising practice, there is still a lack of studies that consolidate a standardized consensus on its effectiveness, reinforcing the need for advances in research in the area of pediatric respiratory physiotherapy with the aim not only of improving therapeutic effectiveness, but also of optimizing the use of available resources, resulting in benefits for both patients and the health system.
