There are reports of people crossdressing since the beginning of theatre, when women were not allowed to be actresses and the female characters had to be played by man dressed as women. However, it was only in the XVIII and XIX centuries that crossdressing started changing its meaning and became what we know today. Currently, crossdressing is one of the most important parts of being a drag queen. The community had seen an intense rise because of the presence of drag queens in the main media, like TV shows –RuPaul’s Drag Race, A Queen is Born, Queen of the Universe –, social media, clubs, and other social mediums. The following research has as an objective to produce a photography book-feature that uses the Hero’s Journey as a story lineto tell the story of the drag queen cultureof Brazil, showcasing the readers the story of three main characters and connect their setting up process with the Hero’s Journey theory. To achieve this research, it was necessary to study about the culture and history of drag queens, the Hero’s Journey created by Joseph Campbell and adapted by Christopher Vogler, and the languages of a photography book-feature.
