A gestão
eficácia do centro cirúrgico.
do centro cirúrgico estudado, gerando desorganização e prejuízos financeiros.
The operating room is a critical unit in the hospital environment, playing an essential role in the performance of surgical and anesthetic procedures. Efficient management of this sector is essential to ensure patient safety, quality of services and operational efficiency. The work of the CC has a significant impact on the overall dynamics of the hospital and its financial performance. Time management is a crucial aspect, as errors in time estimates can affect operational efficiency. The adoption of methods based on historical data and the application of exploratory analysis techniques are essential approaches to optimizing management and improving the effectiveness of the operating room. Objetives:The aim of this study is to carry out an exploratory analysis of data from the operating room of a university hospital, in order to identify variables that influence the efficient functioning of the sector. Methodology: A retrospective analytical study will be carried out, focusing on the evaluation of all surgical procedures recorded on the information management platform of the Mackenzie Evangelical Hospital of Paraná during the period from January 2023 to October 2023. The analysis will include specific variables related to the procedures, such as: room number, patient entry time, start of anesthesia, start of surgery, end of surgery, end of anesthesia, patient leaving the operating room, start of cleaning, end of cleaning and room preparation time for the next surgery. Results: The data collected from the surgical center showed a median turnover time of 45 minutes, suggesting inefficiency. Idle time after cleaning was 25 minutes, accounting for 56% of the turnover time. The variables of waiting time for anesthesia, anesthetic induction time, procedure duration, anesthesia discontinuation time, cleaning time, idle time after cleaning, and turnover time showed statistically significant differences between rooms. However, inspection of the data using scatter plots revealed an arbitrary pattern in the recording of surgical times, compromising the reliability of the data available in the hospital management tool. Conclusion: There is inefficiency in the turnover time of the studied surgical center, leading to disorganization and financial losses. Modernizing data collection and promoting organizational culture could improve its management.
