Resumo
This thesis seeks to present, from a sociological standpoint, the unique characteristics of architectural work and, through them, to question both the modern notion of work and the mystifications that surround creative activities. In comparison with the social imaginary where work is associated with mechanical, repetitive practices, subject to a discipline distant to the individual and confused with employment, work in architecture is interpreted here in its qualitative dimension as a form of craftsmanship creation. Its craftsmanship characteristics are expressed in the collective processes of preparing an architectural design, passing by the modern society, containing a know-how that articulates both knowledge and practice, reflection and accomplishment. Adopting the methodological point of view of analytical approach to architecture in its actual conduct in order to identify who does the work and how the work is done , three architectural projects are presented based on the works of architect Luciano Margotto Soares. Further, indicating that the practices of project design and development of the architectural work imagined several creative acts emerge from repetitive movements that involve discipline and effort, therefore hard work, it brings elements that demystify the idealizations made around the architect, as bearer of hidden genius attributes.
