dc.description.abstractSendo o Brasil o país com o maior sistema público de transplantes de órgãos no mundo, porém com uma baixa taxa de efetividade das doações se comparado com outros países, o presente estudo teve como finalidade analisar as doações de órgãos no Brasil, os seus percalços que impedem uma maior taxa de doações e os principais atores responsáveis pelo aumento no número de doações. Para a realização do estudo, foi empregada a metodologia de pesquisa bibliográfica a partir da análise de materiais já publicados referentes ao assunto junto com a análise documental de instrumentos normativos e de outros registros oficiais. A partir das análises, ficou constatada a importância do Estado, a partir do investimento em educação direcionada ao meio médico e campanhas informativas à população. Junto disso, mostrou-se essencial a educação das equipes médicas e das Comissões Intra-Hospitalares de Doação de Órgãos e Tecidos para Transplante para conseguirem diagnosticar a morte encefálica e a comunicação à família. Por último, foi analisada a importância da família do potencial doador na busca pelo aumento da efetividade das doações. Como resultado do estudo, foi verificado que a educação é a melhor via para se atingir altos níveis de doações no Brasil, pois há ainda carência de informação sobre tal temática tanto no seio social quanto nos profissionais de saúde.pt_BR
dc.description.abstractAs Brazil is the country with the largest public organ transplantation system in the world, but with a low rate of effectiveness of donations when compared to other countries, the present study analyzed the Brazilian organ donations system, its problems that prevent a higher rate of donations and the main responsible for the increase in the number of donations. To carry out the study, the bibliographic research methodology was used based on the analysis of materials already published, referring to the subject together with a documentary analysis of normative instruments and other official records. From the analysis, it was verified the importance of the State, from the investment in education directed to the medical environment and information campaigns to the population. Along with this, the education of the medical teams and the In-Hospital Commissions for Donating Organs and Tissues for Transplantation proved essential to be able to diagnose brain death and communication to the family. Finally, the importance of the family of the potential donor in the search for increasing the effectiveness of donations was analyzed. As a result of the study, it was found that education is the best way to achieve high levels of donations in Brazil, as there is still a lack of information on this topic both in the social context and in health professionals.pt_BR
