All rights reserved.The work identified the themes of the educational debate, held in the scope of the journal, between 1950 and 1971. In the state discourse manifested by the authors, concerns about the primary school were revealed; countries taken as exemplars; the influence of international bodies; the pedagogical conception most appropriate to the objectives of that school and the political measures taken, with a view to the organization of national primary education.
