O presente trabalho tem como tema o desenvolvimento da carreira das mulheres na advocacia
privada. Seu objetivo principal é compreender como está a diversidade de gênero nos escritórios
de advocacia no Brasil, quais os principais obstáculos enfrentados pelas mulheres na sua
atuação e, ainda, analisar as medidas afirmativas e as políticas de diversidade criadas pelos
grandes escritórios e a sua efetividade. Nesse estudo, restou demonstrada: a evolução do papel
social da mulher, a evolução do modelo de advocacia atual, as principais adversidades
encontradas pelas mulheres de ascensão na carreira e a relação entre maternidade e trabalho.
Como procedimento metodológico, o presente estudo valeu-se da pesquisa exploratória, tendo
sido levantados e consolidados os dados fornecidos pelas Seccionais da Ordem dos Advogados
do Brasil, bem como pelos escritórios mais bem classificados no país e, ainda, foram
consideradas as pesquisas mais recentes realizadas no país acerca do tema. Foi observado que,
além dos diversos obstáculos impostos as mulheres em decorrência do papel social que
historicamente lhes fora imposto, hoje, com a igualdade constitucional alcançada, enfrentam
flagrante acúmulo de funções, vivenciando cobranças internas e externas para que exerçam
perfeitamente todos os papéis sociais que lhes são incumbidos.
This thesis has as subject the analyses of the development of Brazilian women’s career in private law. The main objective is to understand how gender diversity is in the Brazilian law firms, what are the main barriers faced by women in the performance of their labor activities and also to analyze the affirmative measures and diversity policies created by the most prestigious Brazilian law firms and their effectiveness. This research exposes the historical evolution of the social role of women, the evolution of the current advocacy model, the main adversities faced by women regarding promotions and the link between motherhood and work. As a methodological procedure, the present study was based on exploratory research, data provided by the Sectionals of the Brazilian Bar Association and from the most prestigious law firms in the country were collected and consolidated, as well as by the most recent researches conducted in Brazil on the subject. It was observed that, in addition to the various barriers to which women were subjected due to the social role that had historically been imposed on them, today, with the constitutional equality achieved, they face flagrant functions accumulation, experiencing internal and external pressure to carry out perfectly with all the attributions entrusted to them.
