Abstract
The concern with access to health and preservation of human dignity in Brazil today, especially for those who have severe and complex pathologies to be treated, is enabling the dissemination of the benefits provided by the use of medical cannabis scientifically proven. In this context, the object of this study is to demonstrate the obstacles that patients face in gaining legal access to medications composed of the more than 100 cannabinoid substances found in the plant, considering that the Brazilian history, substantially influenced by the international scenario, has prioritized the indiscriminate criminalization of drugs, leaving their medicinal and curative potential on the margins.
