dc.description.abstractThis research aims to deal with the credit union regulation and seek economic concept of entry barriers, consisting of difficulties, among them, regulators to act in a particular economic sector. In the first part of the work is done an analysis of the economic theory of entry barriers with emphasis on regulation in order to identify her reflection in the movement of the Brazilian credit union. Then analyze the legal history of the credit industry, from the moment that the sector was subject to supervision by the Central Bank, focusing on the period before and after the Federal Constitution of 1998 because it is the foundation of validity of all our current positive legal system. Search identify in regulating research in the course of normative evolutionary process obstacles to the full development of the cooperative movement as a strategy for social integration by the economic. Understanding the meaning of the regulation, how it developed and what the current situation of the branch credit regulation. Understanding the historical is able to understand how we got to a certain stage. This is the essence of this research master's work, identify barriers that prevented the cooperative growth in the financial system since the start of monitoring of Brazil's Central Bank in the credit union branch. In the third part of the research, the current and recent issues to consider resolutions on the credit union from the perspective of economic theory the barrier to entry, identifying the challenges of the new legal reality of the segment. Finally, an analysis of credit union numbers in Brazil, the participation of the movement in the domestic financial system, mainly from the stabilization of the Brazilian currency, to identify the reflection of regulation in the credit union and its entry in the market, being a practical analysis of how it shows the development of the sector in the face of economic barriers, including, regulation.
