O presente trabalho busca investigar as mudanças entre a personagem Emma do
romance homônimo de Jane Austen e a adaptação de mesmo nome lançada nas
plataformas digitais em 2020, mais especificamente, sob a perspectiva da mudança
de paradigmas femininos com a influência do movimento feminista. Dessa forma, a
pesquisa tem como objetivo estudar a obra originária e a personagem, descrever
como esta é relida no cinema, além de pontuar os pontos de convergência, reforço e
transgressão com a obra basilar. Para tanto, será utilizada pesquisa bibliográfica
para investigar as indagações mencionadas no objetivo do trabalho. Propõe-se,
portanto, contextualizar a sociedade de Jane Austen segundo os estudos de
Alexandrova (2018), bem como as mudanças acarretadas pelo movimento feminista,
como postulado por Machado (2018). Além disso, expor os estudos acerca da
figuração e refiguração de personagens, segundo Reis (2016) e, por fim, realizar
uma análise, unindo os tópicos estudados previamente. Dessa forma, será possível
afirmar o caráter transgressor na obra de Austen, bem como afirmar a mesma
característica em De Wilde.
The present work seeks to investigate the changes between the character Emma from the homonym romance by Jane Austen and the adaptation with the same name released on digital platforms in 2020, more specifically under the perspective of the change in feminine paradigms with the influence of the feminist movement. Thereby, the research has the objective of studying the original work, the character, describe how she's reconstructed in cinema, in addition to punctuating the points of convergence, rupture and disruption with the basic work. Therefore, we will utilize a bibliographic research to investigate the questions mentioned in the objective of the work. Thus, proposes to contextualize Jane Austen’s society according to Alexandrova (2018), additionally to the changes entitled by the feminist movement, as postulated by Machado (2018). Furthermore, expose the studies concerning character figuration and refiguration, according to what Reis (2016) affirms and lastly, the analysis, uniting the topics studied previously. Hence, it will be possible to affirm the transgressor character in Austen’s work, as well as state the same characteristic in De Wilde’s work.
