O presente estudo aborda o gaslighting e falsas memórias como uma forma de violência contra a mulher. Objetiva-se analisar as principais características, objetivos e desenvolvimento histórico da Lei Maria da Penha para que seja possível a explanação do gaslighting e falsas memórias como uma modalidade de agressão. Ainda, será indicado que a criação da Lei do Sinal Vermelho possibilitou a identificação, por terceiros, de que uma mulher está em situação de violência apenas pela realização de um símbolo em sinal de X. Na sequência, a violência psicológica será enfatizada, de modo que o gaslighting e as falsas memórias possam ser compreendidas como nuances da violência. O desenvolvimento do presente estudo adotou a metodologia descritiva-explicativa, a partir da revisão de bibliografias já existentes sobre o tema. Por fim, constatou-se que o gaslighting e as falsas memórias podem trazer danos tão gravosos quanto os decorrentes de uma violência física, pois atinge a esfera moral e psíquica da vítima, torando, assim, a questão um caso de saúde pública e passível de amparo legislativo.

The development of the present study adopted the descriptive-explanatory methodology, based on the review of existing bibliographies on the subject. Finally, it was found that gaslighting and false memories can bring damages as serious as those resulting from physical violence, as it affects the moral and psychological sphere of the victim, thus making the issue a public health case that can be dealt with. legislative support.
