© 2017 IEEE.This work presents a comparative analysis of the evolution of IBM Watson, done with a Computer Vision application, which describes pictures for visually impaired using Watson, a computer developed by IBM primarily for text recognition and analysis. Watson also has an API of Visual Recognition with Cognition techniques, and it is through it that picture description is developed. Android was chosen to deal with the application interface, because of its popularity and portability with the IBM platform presented in this article. The comparison results were satisfactory, allowing the cognitive field to become more frequently explored, in particular to help people with special needs.
