In this paper, we describe a computational model of a retail store, intended to support the evaluation of the impact of item level Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology adoption. The model has an indirect reference to RFID, whose effects could be felt in the replenishment policy, checkout service time and product recommendations. The model will enable the development of a simulator which is expected to provide information for the performance comparison of the current processes and their RFID alternatives.
