Abstract
© 2020, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao. All rights reserved. The technological advances in recent years led to the development of new devices for humans to interact with computer systems, and introduced interfaces committed to reduce the learning time and to enhance the usability of those systems. However, these expectations were not completely fulfilled so far. This paper presents a brief literature review on issues related to the usability of systems based on gesture and voice interfaces, presenting the possible causes and arguments for their inadequacy. It also identifies a set of recommendations for the implementation of interactive systems that use non-conventional interaction devices. Finally, it provides a set of predictions about the future of this interaction paradigm.
