dc.description.abstractThis proposed study aims to identify the perspective of the managers of Timber Center-South of Paraná to sustainable practices in these companies have awareness of character, obligation or necessity, since the incorporation of the environmental situation in business management imposed new adjustments organizations. In the timber industry, for example, the current context calls for the companies to achieve sustainable forest management, as well as certifications in order to assure the consuming public that these are sourced from reliable sources. This is a research with qualitative approach of descriptive in which data collection took place through in-depth interviews with five timber managers located in the Midwestern region of Paraná. The results suggest that the topic "sustainability" is still familiar in the corporate environment. In addition, each day gets more space. However, the speeches analyzed allow us to infer that there is still lack of maturity in making decisions regarding the effective implementation of sustainable practices in the surveyed organizations.
