dc.description.abstract© 2017 Centro Universitario de Brasilia. All rights reserved. The term jurisdiction, in its traditional conception, has strong correlation with state monopolistic dominion in dispute settlement and the idea of territoriality. This article exposes the reconstruction of the concept of jurisdiction by the virtual space, due to the capacity of the technologies to induce a degree of confidence and speed for the resolution of conflicts not observed previously and the separation between the exercise of jurisdiction and territory. In particular, it analyzes how the dynamics of social networks and blockchain technology - as well as one of its applications, cryptocurrencies - will act as propellants of this trend. The hypothesis is tested through the inductive method and by way of bibliographical-documentary research.
