dc.description.abstractAn algorithm, inspired on the strategy employed by ant colonies for seeking food, was developed in order to extract mathematical formulas from data. This algorithm, called Formula Miner, is applied in a breast cancer diagnosis database and its performance is compared to the performances of some well-known data mining algorithms.
