dc.description.abstract© 2023 IMCIC.All Rights Reserved.Transformative learning (TL) is a concept that needs to be carefully understood because, if interpreted in a common sense, it may lead to certain trivialization. TL should be understood as a reflective, critical, holistic, interactive, and constructive approach that combines points of view and habits of mind to form frames of reference, identities, autonomies, and perceptions of students. Thus, the present study aimed to identify and analyze possible indicators of transformative learning. To do so, eight recorded classes from a course in biological sciences at a private university in the central region of São Paulo, Brazil, were analyzed. The selected statements from three female students were analyzed using four categories to determine the level of learning for each of them. It was observed that transformative learning (TL) is possible through conceptions of reflective and dialogical learning, where intentionality and planning are linked to knowledge construction that considers the actors involved in the process, including managers, teachers, students, and the reality in which they all live.
