The behavior of the interplanetary space is a relatively recent science. Understanding its dynamics and influence in the Earth's atmosphere has been studied by several researchers and still requires many inquiries. However, the knowledge already acquired allows us to advance in researches that takes into account new hypotheses for studies about these physical phenomena that occur on our planet. Many of these studies presents assumptions about the influence of the solar cycle on the terrestrial climate. This article assesses the impacts of solar activity on the rainfall indexes of the Mirante de Santana Station (SP), based on the flow of Galactic Cosmic Rays that penetrate the Earth's atmosphere, and the occurrence of sunspots observed in the last 7 solar cycles. The well-known Forbush effect was identified and an analysis was carried out, for the studied solar cycles, between the years with the greatest occurrence of sunspots, which was called the peak of solar activity. The sum of the occurrence of spots per year of each cycle was carried out and the variation, increase or decrease, of GCR in the terrestrial atmosphere was identified, which can be correlated with the variation in the occurrence of annual precipitation recorded.
