Abstract
Replicators were introduced as a possible theory to explain the origin of life. Since their proposal they have been extensively studied from a biochemical perspective. This work proposes a taxonomy for the main properties of replicators as well as introduces a computational model for these entities in order to investigate the existence and emergence of some properties that are important for building computational tools to solve complex problems. A number of preliminary experiments will be performed in order to show that the proposed taxonomy of properties can be observed in the model introduced. © 2010 IEEE.
