dc.description.abstractA study on the performance of Symbolic Dynamics Chaotic OFDM signals over Rayleigh fading channels is presented. Both Fourier OFDM and Wavelet OFDM are considered and compared with each other. First, it was found that traditional non-OFDM chaotic communications do not perform well in a multipath environment. Then, the conjugation of Symbolic Dynamics and OFDM techniques was simulated and considered to present a better BER performance comparable to non chaotic modulation schemes in the same realistic wireless environment. It was also found that Chaotic Wavelet OFDM outperforms Chaotic Fourier OFDM systems in a multipath environment. © 2012 EURASIP.
