This work presents a case study about My Home My Life Project (PMCMV in portuguese) that verifies the applicability of passive technologies, using bioclimatic strategies for heating and cooling, which reflect in the architectural design a greater harmony between the relations of human beings with the climate of the place, as well as the implementation of active techniques such as solar thermal panels and rainwater collection system, aiming at reducing energy and water consumption, as well as increasing the energy efficiency of the building, promoting comfort and quality of life for users. The electrical and civil construction sectors, the housing deficit, the PMCMV and the performance standards were studied, as well as the use of software such as Analysis SOL-AR, to verify the solar charter of the building, and the projetEEE, created by the Ministry of Environment, very important to obtain the climatic data of the place, the bioclimatic strategies to be used and the construction components to verify if the elements (walls and roofs) satisfied the standard of performance. There was a need to make small changes in order for the standard to be met. In addition, the implementation of the active techniques proved to be an interesting investment because it presents a low turnaround time and a reduction in electricity and water bills, which has a large weight in the restricted budget of low-income families benefiting from the Program.
