Resumo
This paper deals with a study regarding the impact of Distributed Generation in the Electric System of RGE - one of the electric utilities of Brazil's Southern Region - specifically concerning the integration of small hydroelectric plants (SHP) to the power system. Control and Protection Systems parameters characteristics have been taken into account and field-tests data have been obtained for simulation purposes. The information collected was used as input data into the mathematical model representing the RGE Distribution System. A computational tool was also developed to assist in data manipulation, for use in the simulations. ©2008 IEEE.
