© 2022 Sociedade Brasileira de QuímicaThe present study aimed to evaluate the thermal behavior of wooden houses models differently coated with multilayer carton packaging. The evaluation of the improvement in thermal discomfort was obtained by measuring the internal and external temperatures. Three models of wooden houses were built, with a fiber cement tile roof. In the first case, the walls were lined internally with multilayer carton packs positioned with the paper face inwards; on the other, the ceiling was covered with the packaging positioned in the same way; and the third one was not coated. Temperatures were measured hourly, from 12pm to 4pm, for three Saturdays and three Sundays in the month of July 2019. For cooler days, internal temperatures had similar behaviors and close values. For hotter days, a reduction in the internal temperature of the coated models was observed, with a decrease, on the hottest day, of up to 5.3 ° C in the model with the coated cover and of 3.5 ° C in the model with coated walls.
