Investir em técnicas e ferramentas de gerenciamento de projetos tem sido uma estratégia adotada por organizações que se preocupam em dar respostas ágeis aos problemas relacionados à competição e ao posicionamento de mercado. Hoje, dentre as metodologias de gerenciamento de projetos, é possível citar a tradicional, a ágil e a combinação de ambas, denominada híbrida. Dessa forma, as empresas têm o desafio de avaliar benefícios e restrições nas diferentes abordagens de gerenciamento de projetos, e adotar o melhor modelo para seu negócio. Muitas empresas desejam adotar o framework Scrum, pois este tem demonstrado potencial para acompanhar os desafios do rápido crescimento da tecnologia, do mercado e das suas interações. No entanto, para desenvolver processos de alto desempenho, como a adoção do Scrum, as empresas precisam oferecer ambientes de apoio. Considerando a relação entre contexto empresarial e a escolha da metodologia de gerenciamento de projetos, esse trabalho buscou, através de estudos de múltiplos casos, investigar como fatores organizacionais influenciam a adoção do Scrum por empresas que buscam otimizar a gestão estratégica por meio de projetos. O estudo foi aplicado em três organizações de diferentes portes e setores. Para levantamento dos dados e posteriores análises, foi desenvolvido e aplicado o instrumento de pesquisa MAAS, cujos resultados, apresentados em forma de mapa de calor, demonstram que a gestão de pessoas mostrou ter menor aderência ao Scrum pelas três empresas, enquanto a cultura organizacional teve maior receptividade.
Investing in project management techniques and tools has been a strategy adopted by organizations that are concerned with providing prompt responses to problems related to competition and market positioning. Today, among the project management methodologies, it is possible to mention the traditional, the agile and the combination of both, called hybrid. Therefore, companies face the challenge of evaluating benefits and restrictions in different project management approaches, and adopting the best model for their business. Many companies want to adopt the Scrum framework, since it has demonstrated the potential to keep up with the challenges of the fast growth of technology, the market and their interactions. However, to develop high performance processes, such as the adoption of Scrum, companies need to offer supportive environments. Considering the relationship between business context and the choice of project management methodology, this work sought, through multiple case studies, to investigate how organizational factors influence the adoption of Scrum by companies that seek to optimize strategic management through projects. The study was applied to three organizations of different sizes and sectors. For data collection and further analysis, the MAAS research instrument was developed and applied, whose results, presented in the form of a heat map, demonstrate that people management showed to have less adherence to Scrum by the three companies, while the organizational culture had greater receptivity.
