| dc.description.abstract | © 2018 Taylor & Francis Group, London.The territory surrounding stations zones is not only a geographical space to acess a transport infrastructure, but also a living, social and creative space. The central issue to be discussed is how to integrate an urban station node into the territory that promotes diversity of uses and urban vitality. This paper stresses how the infrastructure of urban mobility became a culture of erosion in territory, using the experience of Corinthians-Itaquera subway stations in the city of São Paulo (Brazil). The objective of recognizing the negative forces that act on territory is to understand them, fight them and turn them into constructive forces. The analyses are carried out through plans, sketches and related pictures from the site to identify these areas before and after the node-station intervention. The results identify the challenges of urban design for the space appropriation by the community, and the predominance of orthodox urbanism ideology. | |
