© 2007 IADISMost of software systems are not developed taking into account the heterogenous needs of the users. It is known that each user has different levels of knowledge, goals, abilities and preferences. This emphasizes the need of developing systems that can adapt themselves to each type of user or stereotype. Since the description of the knowledge and characteristics of the user involves uncertainnes and vagueness sense, the Fuzzy Theory can be used to perform the User Modeling in order to work with this vagueness. This paper proposes user behavior modeling for speech interfaces using a Fuzzy-based structure, which can properly reflect some characteristics of the user in the model, and apply this model in order to adapt the dialogue management and the content of queries to the user´s needs.
