All rights reserved.This article analyzes the issue of gender performance based on the character Diadorim, from Grande Sertão: veredas, with the perspective of homoerotic love between him and the protagonist, Riobaldo. The novel, when dealing with the issue of gender involving one of the central characters of the plot, as well as the issue of homoaffection (which is one of the points of convergence of the plot – the love between two men), cross-issues matters involving universal rights such as dignity, freedom, and equality, as well as the right to autonomy in relation to sexual identity and choice.
