© 2015, Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht.Facing a working world more flexible, unstable and potentially generator of vulnerabilities, the career counselling has required contemporary approaches that meet these demands, which ones have been present in Latin America for a long time. Thus, the present paper aimed to analyse some Latin American proposals and highlight general principles to deal with the task of understanding and intervening in contexts of inequality where psychosocial vulnerability is generated. The main results pointed out that career counselling should be interdisciplinary and psychosocial with contextualized practices and social commitment, in addition to be integrated to public policies as well as to the communitarian and institutional initiatives.
