dc.description.abstract | © 2022 Sociedade Brasileira de Química. The present research focused on the analysis of engines used by a cement industry. PROCEL's Mark IV Plus software was used to optimize the data obtained by a cement industry, providing the energy losses of each engine. This work also presents the payback period obtained by the acquisition of new engines and the feasibility of exchange. The investment in new engines proved to be viable and interesting for the cement industry, since it was observed an electricity saving with all the replacements. The replacement with engines WEG of M-1, M-5, M-12, M-16, M-18, M-19 and M-20 presented an annual saving with energy losses of R$14,650.00 and the industry would obtain the investment back in approximately 2 years, which demonstrated the feasibility of the replacement. The Voges M-15 engine, which is more expensive, showed the greatest reduction in energy losses, which would lead the company to save R$ 8,600.00 annually. The energy distribution concessionaires together with the government have been encouraging energy efficiency through engine exchange programs, providing discounts to industries that want to optimize their equipment. Technological innovations have been improving the performance of electric motors with increased efficiency and service factor, launching more efficient and sustainable equipment lines. | |
