comparando as destinações e propondo materiais educativos.
extinção no estado.
The present study addresses the impacts of human-wildlife conflict in the municipality of Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, with the objective of analyzing data on wildlife rescues and voluntary handovers. It involves mapping areas with the highest incidence of conflicts, comparing outcomes, and proposing educational materials. Data were collected from the Environmental Military Police and the Zoonosis Control Center, covering incidents reported between 2021 and 2024, totaling 1,791 individuals from 33 different orders. Mammals (45%) and birds (33%) were the most frequently encountered groups, including 13 species classified as endangered in the state. The analysis indicated that conflicts are concentrated in urban areas, correlating with a higher occurrence of synanthropic species such as Didelphis aurita. The study concluded that potential underreporting of incidents, scarcity of information, and decentralization of data hinder effective environmental management in the municipality. To address these challenges, the study proposed the establishment of a regional Wildlife Screening and Rehabilitation Center (CETRAS), the registration of release areas for monitoring and mitigating conflicts, and the implementation of critical environmental education activities. These initiatives aim to raise public awareness about the impacts of urbanization on wildlife and promote conservation efforts.
