© 2024 IEEE.This article evaluates the latency of an MPEGH Audio multi-stream service, considering its distribution via broadcast and broadband. The multi-stream feature provides flexibility for broadcasters to efficiently deliver the main audio of a program over Over-The-Air (OTA) and additional audio objects Over-The-Top (OTT), allowing the user to select the desired audio tracks and enhance the audio experience via OTT. This paper proposes latency tolerance evaluation method considering a scenario of OTA and OTT transmission using the multistream delivery capabilities of MPEG-H Audio. This evaluation is conducted with a network delay emulator using a gaussian based delay profile. The results indicate that the player successfully decoded and played the content with a delay of 1300 ms or less.
