All rights reserved.The importance of prison labour, an instrument of resocialization, impacts on the costs of imprisonment. The aim of this bibliographic research is to analyse the work in the private initiative for prisoners and egress from the national penitentiary system, as a way to realize the principle of fraternity. From the deductive method, its try to demonstrate the importance of work for the reintegration of these individuals in society and the need to develop corporate social liability, in order to help reduce the alarming degree of violence and crime in the country. Its sought to reflect on the development and improvement of public and private policies in favor of the prison population, in attention to the principle of human dignity, in order to build a more fair and supportive society.
