dc.description.abstractMethods to insert, keep and fix silver and gold nanoparticles to the inner walls of microstructured fibers are demonstrated. Fibers optimized for evanescent field interaction were employed and can result in efficient plasmonic chemical sensing. © 2008 Optical Society of America.
