dc.description.abstractObtaining quality certification the accounting firms aims to provide competitive advantage through the quality factor. Thus, this research sought to identify the main consequences perceived by the managers of the accounting firms after obtaining the quality certification. The research was exploratory, quantitative and descriptive, supported by bibliographic research. For the data collection, the survey method was used, with a questionnaire sent to the accounting firms that obtained, in 2014 and 2015, the PQEC and PQEC + ISO certification of SESCON-SP. The main consequences perceived by managers were grouped into six factors: Internal I and II; External; Services and Business Opportunities; Processes and Improvements; and Customer Perception. The results of this research may contribute to increase the demand for certification in the Accounting Firm Quality Program (PQEC) of SESCON-SP, since this work may encourage non-certified accounting firms to seek the certification process of quality, aiming at distinguish itself in the market, adding value to the services provided and maintaining competitiveness in a highly contested corporate environment. The limitation of this work was the exclusive targeting for companies certified only by SESCON-SP.eng
