© 2022, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing. The knowledge or information society has brought risks of misinformation for the public and academia. “Greenwashing” in the environmental sciences exists and cannot be ignored. In the fields of “Urban Mobility” and “City Logistics,” which share similar processes and the same environment, it is also essential to verify the influence of fads and misleading concepts. Thus, this paper aims to answer this question. To this end, out of a sample of 561 websites, 32 were selected for deep analysis. We conclude that the risk of contamination by fads and misleading concepts is moderate but not negligible, requiring a continuously strong posture in defense of science from the scientific community and society.
