dc.description.abstract | Lately the environmental conscience has been strongly rising around the world, even though some production processes, among them the deep drawing process, cannot attend the necessitiy because of, among other reasons, the technical difficulties to produce a material that is less aggressive to the environment and due to the cost raise that the use of that product would be added to the process. Therefore, the objective of this project is to produce a protective film with physical and mechanical properties that is capable of substitute the actual polyvinyl chloride or, in less amount, polyethylene films produced with organic solvent-based adhesive, which are largely used nowadays. One environmentally less aggressive alternative would be the substitution of the current products by a film produced from polyolefin using water based adhesive and that is the general objective of this dissertation. In order to achieve the objectives, the samples of graphene oxide were produced and mixed with a matrix of LDPE using an extrusion with twin screw. Afterwards a film was produced using a monolayer blow film extrusion line. All the materials were analyzed after each stage of production and it was noted that the mixture was as good as expected although the produced film did not show the expected characteristics to achieve the objectives of this dissertation. | eng |
