Dom Sebastião, Padre Vieira e Antônio Conselheiro: sombras e luzes de um messianismo luso-brasileiro

Abstract

A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo discutir aspectos políticos e históricos protagonizados por pessoas importantes, como um dos reis de Portugal de nome Sebastião, um padre que era um político sagaz de nome Antônio Vieira e Antônio Conselheiro, que era líder religioso e questionador político. Observar-se-á as ações desses homens nas suas áreas percebendo que legitimavam suas intenções e ações pela religião. Desta forma deve-se observar que a religião é, ao longo da história, grande legitimadora para as ações humanas. Observa-se que os atores humanos procuram legitimar e explicar suas ações das mais diversas formas. Validado pela religião, o homem vai à guerra e mata, mas não somente mata, pois também morre. Em nome da religião o homem muda sua perspectiva teológica e seu discurso para se moldar à política vigente. Em nome dela um líder errante enfrenta um exército poderoso não apenas para corrigir injustiças, mas também por causa de sua insatisfação com o regime político.

This paper the objective to discuss political and historical aspects carried out by important people, such as one of the kings of Portugal named Sebastião, a priest who was a politician sagaz by the name of Antônio Vieira and Antônio Conselheiro, who was a religious leader and political questioner. The actions of these men in their areas will be observed realizing that they legitimized their intentions and actions by the religion. In this way, it should be noted that religion is, throughout history, a great legitimator for human actions. It is observed that human actors seek to legitimize and explain their actions in the most diverse ways. Validated by religion, man goes to war and kills, but not only does he kill, for he also dies. In the name of religion man changes his theological perspective and his discourse to conform to current politics. In her name a wandering leader faces a powerful army not only to correct injustices but also because of her dissatisfaction with the political regime.
